International Day of Books
for the not yet famous unpublished author in your life.
What is the International Day of Books?
| |
Inspired by World Book Day , International Day of Books is a showcase for the not yet famous, unpublished writers of the world. The aim is to get as many interested authors from as many different countries as possible to collaborate on a back breaking, but rewarding few months of publication and promotion. Every author must agree to publicise all the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS books in their own country, in events both big and small. The rewards, while perhaps not fame and fortune, will include finding an audience for your work and (hopefully) entertaining the masses with your writing.
What do I have to do?
| |
- Write a book of no less than 12,000 words and no more than 15,000 words
- Complete it by 1st July 2008
- Organise a book launch for 27th July (no matter how big or small) and publicise the other International Day of Books authors as well as your own work
Great idea! But how is it possible?
| |
The books will be published by Lulu , an excellent POD, which is a godsend for the Not Yet Famous, Unpublished Writers of the World. Each book will have its own ISBN number and be available for sale through Lulu, Amazon and other select bookstores both online and off.
I know what I have to do, but what will you do for me?
| |
Apart from bringing the authors together, organising and publicising INTERNATIONAL DAY OF
BOOKS on various corners of the web and Ireland and showcasing the authors and their
books, we will help proofread and edit your manuscript, provide artwork (if needed), format
and set up your book on Lulu with an ISBN AND (as if that isn't enough) also give you advice on how to
organise your book launch and promote the books in your country.

How is Iseult Murphy involved with IDB?
| |
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS is the mad love child of Not Yet Famous writer, actor and
artist Iseult Murphy.
2008 is the year she is going to get published - one way or another - and, as an unselfish
writer (or perhaps because she is a coward) she wants to take as many people with her as
possible!
She is well aware that she will probably curse the day INTERNATIONAL DAY OF BOOKS was
conceived as it can lead to nothing but heartache, heartburn, sleepless nights and financial
loss, but as with any child, now that it has arrived she can't very well ignore it.
